Cactus Pete started his radio career way back in 1978 when he was a high school student at Sabino High in Tucson, Arizona
and regulary was part of a panel show called "Youth Wants to Know" on KTUC AM 1400 in Tucson. After a three year stint
in the Army in Germany, where he was influenced by American Forces Radio and Radio Luxembourg Dee Jay's, he was discharged
and returned to Tucson radio landing a part-time job as announcer at KNST News Radio while attending and graduating from the
University of Arizona. Then he worked at KIIM, KLPX and KWFM in Tucson and the legendary KSTM "The Storm" in Apache
Junction/Phoenix. After a move to the Pacific Northwest in the late 80's Pete was a regular on Q105 Portland and the
evening announcer on KUIK in the mid 90's. Pete is back on Phoenix, Arizona Radio as of 2004 as his show "The All Night
Rock Asylum" airs Monday through Friday on
www.radiofreephoenix.com and on 92.7 FM in Globe AZ from Midnight until 4AM MST. Pete broadcasts the show from the KBFD studios
at Sunset Beach, Oregon. He put KBFD on the air at Sunset Beach in May 2005 on 104.9 FM (although it has been an internet
station since 2003). Bringing alternative music to the North Oregon Coast (and the World) is Pete's top
priority! It's really "Free Form" here. We play what we want, not what some consulting outfit in New York says
we should play. Pete's "Allnight Rock Asylum" can be heard 12m-4am MST weeknights on 92.7 in Globe, Arizona
and also over
www.radiofreephoenix.com and through the KBFD/Pacific Radio websites!
